Get FREE Food and HELP Today

The Emergency Food Helpline, the Food Bank’s countywide referral program, will connect you to a source for a bag of groceries or a hot meal in your neighborhood. Our Emergency Food Helpline staff and volunteers make more than 3,000 referrals monthly and can assist callers in a wide array of languages.

It’s our No. 1 priority to connect anyone in urgent need with food the same day through an agency close to their home.

We can also connect callers to the following nutrition assistance programs:

  • CalFresh  (the name for the federal Food Stamps Program in California)
  • WIC  (food and nutrition resources for low-income pregnant women, infants, and young children)

The Food Bank also operates a Holiday food hotline in November and December and Free Summer Lunch hotline from June-August.

There are several assistance programs that provide supplemental food for you and your family. These programs increase food security and reduce hunger by providing children and low-income individuals and families access to healthy food. Learn more (English/Spanish)
