John Baldwin, 35 of Centeron, Ark. fired 19 rounds at a group of three Jehovah’s witnesses after telling them to get lost.
Baldwin was OK when the Jehovah’s witnesses first arrived at his home but after learning that the men were Jehovah’s Witnesses, he told them to “Get the (explicit) off my property” He then said “Get me my 9” as the men headed to get into their vehicle. CBS affiliate KFSM-TV reports.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found 13 shell casings and a Springfield XDM -9mm handgun in front of the suspect’s home.
Upon being arrested, Baldwin was released on a $50,000 bond. He is being charged with felony aggravated assault.
If convicted, Baldwin faces a $10,000 fine and six years in the slammer.
As a Christian Denomination with 7.5 million members worldwide, Jehovah’s Witnesses publish Bibles and its literature in almost 600 languages. They go door to door to spread the word of Jesus, who is believed to be the Son of God and not part of the Trininity.
