$6.5 Million Turbo Tax Class Action!! Take Action Now to Get Your Share

IF, AT ANY TIME BETWEEN JANUARY 12, 2008 AND MAY 28, 2013, YOU USED TURBOTAX ONLINE AND ELECTED TO HAVE THE TURBOTAX FEES TAKEN OUT OF YOUR TAX RETURN, You May be Eligible for a Payment from A Class Action Settlement

There is a proposed settlement in a class action lawsuit brought against Intuit, Inc. regarding the Refund Processing Service (also known as the Refund Processing Option or Refund Transfer) (“Refund Processing Service”) available on TurboTax Online that allows TurboTax customers to choose to pay their TurboTax fees by deducting the amount owed from their tax refunds for a fee (typically $29.95).  If you used TurboTax Online and opted to have your TurboTax fees, including your tax preparation fees or e-filing fees, deducted from your tax return, and you fit the description of the settlement class:

  • You can make a claim for a portion of the $6,550,000 Settlement Fund (net of any deductions for fees and expenses).  Your claim amount depends on the total number of persons making claims.  To receive benefits from the Settlement, you must fill out a claim form, as described in part 4 of the Notice, and submit it by October 28, 2013;
  • You can exclude yourself from the Settlement (and receive no money from the Settlement but retain your right to bring a lawsuit).  Your request to exclude yourself must be postmarked no later than September 23, 2013.  You must follow the process described in part 8 of the Notice.  If the Settlement is approved and you do not exclude yourself, you will be bound by the Settlement and will release certain claims described therein.
  • You can object to the Settlement.  The deadline for objecting to the Settlement is August 28, 2013.  All objections must be filed with the Court by that day and mailed to Counsel of Record in the case.  See part 7 of the Notice for details.
